Staking Your ADA

Cardano Staking: It is like earning annual interest but its not a deposit in a bank - it is Cardano’s way of encouraging people to hold and not sell their ADA.

Step 1 - Get an official Cardano lite wallet Eternl.io for (desktop) and Vespr (Mobile) We like the Vespr mobile wallet.

Step 2 - Create a new wallet (within Eternl or Vespr). Please make sure that you store your spending password and recovery seed phrase offline in a safe place.

Step 3 - Transfer ADA from an Exchange to your new wallet. We recommend Coinbase Exchange for US citizens.

Step 4 - Choose a pool. We recommend SANTO, but there are thousands of pool operators committed to the Cardano decentralized network.

Step 5 - Click Delegate to that pool 👍

You are staked!!

You’re only paying when registering your wallet at first with 2 ADA refundable deposit and 0.17 ADA transaction fee. There is no other fee that you need to pay for from your holdings. First time staking it will take 3 epochs after you stake (15-20 days) to see rewards. But after that it's every epoch (5 days). Your funds are never locked and your ADA never leaves your wallet in order to stake. You can still make transactions or even sell your ADA. Your rewards are automatically distributed to your wallet and updated to your stake. You can move to a different pool at any time. All pools average 3-4% APR average per year. So our advice would be choose a Pool Operator you trust and want to support.
